I regularly workout and lift weights. The overwhelming belief that weight-lifting is man-only sport and women who practice it are necessarily bulky and rough tomboys, lacking elegance and style frustrates me. So I wanted to dispel that myth. Inspired by my gym buddy Ellie, I decided to do a photoshoot in two settings: the gym and outside.
The two environments obviously aim to depicts a strong contrast between what we are while we work out hard at the gym and how elegant, gentle and beautiful we are in our daily routine. I wanted contrast in every possible detail: lights, outfit, hair and makeup, posture, emotions, art direction (purposeful posing vs. no posing at all). This was my first real photoshoot and although there's a ton to improve, I am happy with the results and I enjoyed the process a lot.
What do you think?
Thanks Ellie for all your patience!
